Joe's first solo classical album, In The Middle, was recorded in the summer of 2024. It contains only the middle movements of well-known concertos and sonatas written for the trumpet. Lyrical pieces by composers Böhme, Desenclos, Ewazen, Hansen, Larsson, Neruda, Peeters, Tartini, Whitney, and Vizzutti.
Joe Bodiford holds a B.A. in Music, and a M.M. in Trumpet Performance. He was the 1992 winner of the National Trumpet Competition, various International Trumpet Guild competitions and scholarships, and MTNA competitions. He has performed with the Tallahassee Symphony, the Tampa Bay Symphony, the Mostly Pops Orchestra, and the Dade City Symphony. He regularly appears as a classical soloist, and performs with classical and jazz ensembles in his area.
